Welcome to Starchevski School of Ballet

Artistry • Discipline • Grace

Registration is now open for our 2026-2027 season! Founded in 1991 by former international principal and soloist dancers Kristof Star and Hanna Starczewski, the Starchevski School of Ballet brings the world-renowned tradition of classical European training straight to Calgary.

Our foundation is rooted deeply in the elite Vaganova (Russian) method, providing young dancers with an unparalleled education in classical technique, precise alignment, musicality, and posture.

We Believe in Excellence Without Compromise—and Without Competition.

We have intentionally designed our boutique program for the “above-recreational” student. We do not participate in commercial dance competitions, nor do we pressure young dancers toward the narrow, high-stress path of professional ballet careers.

Instead, we focus our energy on what truly matters: instilling a lifelong love for movement, building personal confidence, and staging magnificent, classical story productions in our private Chamber Theatre where every student has the chance to perform.

Whether your child is taking their very first steps in dance or training at an advanced level, they will learn directly from masters of the craft in a nurturing, supportive, and inspiring environment.

Experience the beauty of authentic classical ballet, built around your family's schedule.
